Katherine Rui Wu

Hello I am pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science at Johns Hopkins University and am very interested in areas of artificial intelligence. My faculty supervisor in the department of computer science is David Yarowsky.

I also work as a natural language processing lab manager supervised by Chris Callison-Burch and Benjamin Van Durme. Our team designs HITs (Human Intelligence Tasks) and post them on Amazon Mechanical Turk to collect information related to the following areas of research: bilingual translations of rare languages, sentence paraphrasing and compression, word sense disambiguition, and anonymizations of SMS data to offer to researchers developing translation and mapping technologies to support emergency relief efforts and social development.

Several individuals that I interact with include Courtney Napoles, Xuchen Yao, and Theresa Wilson.
